Purple Cow Shake and More by Gail Shipp

Makes: 1 Serving

Purple cow-

  • 1/3 cup purple grape juice
  • 3 lg Scoops vanilla ice cream

Brown cow-

  • 2 Scoops Chocolate Ice Cream
  • 12 oz Root Beer

Rootbeer float-

  • 2 Scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 12 oz Root Beer

Cola Cow-

  • 2 Scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 12 oz Cola

Orange Cow-

  • 2 Scoops orange sherbet
  • 12 oz Lemon-Lime Soda

Cream Cow-

  • 2 Scoops Vanilla ice cream
  • 12 oz Cream soda

For Purple Cow:

Put grape juice and ice cream in blender container. Cover and blend on high speed 10 to 15 seconds.
Pour into tall glass.
Serve right away.

Others:

Place one scoop of ice cream or sherbet in a tall glass.
Fill each with about 3/4 cup of carbonated beverage.
Top with other scoop of ice cream or sherbet.
Serve immediately with straw and long handled ice tea spoon.

Banana Orange Frost by Gail Shipp

Makes: 2 Servings

  • 1 Ripe banana, peeled
  • 1/2 cup Orange juice
  • 1/2 cup Cold milk
  • 1 cup Orange sherbet plus some extra orange sherbet

Variation-

  • 1 Ripe banana, peeled
  • 1/2 cup Pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup Cold milk
  • 1 cup Pineapple sherbet plus some extra pineapple sherbet

Mash banana in small bowl with a fork.
Stir in juice.
Beat mixture with a mixer until smooth.
Stir in milk and one cup sherbet.
Beat until smooth.(Or use blender)
Pour into two tall glasses.
Top each glass with several scoops or sherbet.
Decorate each glass with an orange slice if you like.

Fruit Juice Combo Malts by Gail Shipp

Makes: 5 Servings

  • 3/4 cup Fruit juice
  • 1/3 cup Vanilla malted milk powder
  • 1 qt Vanilla ice cream

Fruit juice should be a combination such as pineapple-orange-banana.
In a 5 cup blender or food processor, combine juice and malted milk powder.
Blend at medium speed, stopping frequently to scrape sides, until malted milk powder is dissolved.
Add ice cream, continue blending, stopping frequently to scrape sides, until smooth.
Serve immediately.

Peppermint Punch

Makes: 8 Cups

  • 4 cups Milk
  • 2 cups Vanilla ice cream, softened
  • 2 cups Chocolate ice cream, softened
  • Peppermint extract
  • 8 Small candy canes

In large bowl, whisk together milk, vanilla and chocolate ice creams, and a few drops peppermint extract to taste.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Just before serving, whisk to blend.
Pour into glasses and garnish with candy canes.

Melon Milk Shake

Makes: 4 Cups

  • 1/2 Cantaloupe (or honeydew melon)
  • 1 1/2 cups Milk
  • 1 tb Honey

Remove the seeds of the melon with the spoon.
Scoop the melon out of the skin into the bowl.
Freeze for 1 hour until solid.
Cover with plastic wrap if freezing longer.
Put the milk and honey into the blender.
Add the frozen melon.
Process until smooth.
Drink immediately.

Strawberry Banana Slushy

Makes: 3 1/2 cups

  • 3/4 cups Lemon, vanilla or strawberry yogurt
  • 2 tb skimmed milk powder
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 5 Large frozen strawberries

Put the yogurt, milk powder, banana and milk into the blender.
Process until smooth.
While the blender is processing, add the strawberries, 1 at a time, through the opening in the lid.
Process until smooth and creamy.

Strawberry Pineapple Cooler

Makes: 1 1/3 cups

  • 1 cup Pineapple juice, chilled
  • 2 tb skimmed milk powder
  • 3 Large frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup Ginger ale or club soda (optional)

Combine the pineapple juice and milk powder in the blender.
Cover and process for 10 seconds.
While the blender is processing, add the strawberries, 1 at a time, through the opening in the lid.
Process until smooth.
Stir in the ginger ale if you wish to have a fizzy cooler.

Raspberry Pineapple Cooler:

Follow the directions for the Strawberry Pineapple Cooler, substituting 1/2 cup of raspberries for the strawberries.

Blueberry Pineapple Cooler:

Follow the directions for the Strawberry Pineapple Cooler, substituting 1/2 cup of blueberries for the strawberries.

Lemon Cola Float

Makes: 1 Float

  • 1 cup Cola soft drink, chilled
  • 2 Scoops of lemon sherbet

Pour the soft drink into the glass.
Add the lemon sherbet.

Veggie Cooler

Makes: 2 1/3 cups

  • 1 1/2 cup Tomato juice
  • 1/2 cup Chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup Chopped cucumber
  • 1/2 cup Grated carrot
  • Hot pepper sauce, dash (optional)

Put all 5 ingredients into the blender.
Process until smooth.
Cover.
Chill in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight.

Banana Push-Ups

Makes: 6 Servings

  • 2 large Bananas, cut up
  • 1/2 cup Instant Nonfat Dry Milk
  • 1 cup Plain Yogurt
  • 6 oz Frozen Orange Juice Concentrate (1 Can)
  • 1 cup Water

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and whirl until foamy.
Pour into paper cups and freeze.
Push up from the bottom of the cup.

Magical Party Punch

Makes: 1 Bowl

  • Assorted colours liquid food colouring
  • Pineapple juice
  • Orange juice
  • Red fruit punch
  • Lemon-lime soft drink, chilled

Stir desired amount of food colouring into separate juices.
Pour juices and fruit punch into separate ice trays.
Freeze.
To serve, pour chilled soft drink over 3 to 4 assorted cubes.
