Keen gardeners
can head to Hempstead Valley to pick up handy tips and ideas
from the experts during the Medway shopping centre's first
gardening show.
From
April 28 - May 3 more than 20 stalls will be exhibiting products
including garden ponds, outdoor furniture and spas as well
as imaginative flower and plant displays created by local
garden centres.
Professional gardener
Derek Chesterman, who has more than 20 years horticultural
experience and works as an advisor at East Farleigh-based
Bill Stevens Garden Centre, will be on hand outside Marks
& Spencer from 2pm on Thursday May 1 to answer shoppers' queries
about plants, garden maintenance and design.
On Friday, May
2 and Saturday, May 3, Worzel Gummidge and Aunt Sally will
be entertaining youngsters as well as handing out 1,000 free
packets of seeds to visitors.
Gardening enthusiasts
also have the opportunity to win a two-day break to the RHS
Wisley Garden Show and the Hampton Court Flower Show with
overnight stay and English breakfast at the four-star Renaissance
Hotel, Heathrow. Entry leaflets are available at Hempstead
Valley Shopping Centre during the event week.
In addition, children
can have fun searching out and counting the scarecrows hidden
in the mall and on exhibitors' stands. Competition forms are
available at the shopping centre and the first correct entry
drawn will be given a prize.
The Hempstead Valley
Gardening Show takes place during the opening hours of the
shopping centre.

Shopping Centre, which has more than 52 stores and restaurants,
over 2,200 free parking spaces and disabled access, is located
at Junction 4, off the M2.
