A Week Of Garden Ideas
At Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre Gardening Show

Keen gardeners can head to Hempstead Valley to pick up handy tips and ideas from the experts during the Medway shopping centre's first gardening show.

From April 28 - May 3 more than 20 stalls will be exhibiting products including garden ponds, outdoor furniture and spas as well as imaginative flower and plant displays created by local garden centres.

Professional gardener Derek Chesterman, who has more than 20 years horticultural experience and works as an advisor at East Farleigh-based Bill Stevens Garden Centre, will be on hand outside Marks & Spencer from 2pm on Thursday May 1 to answer shoppers' queries about plants, garden maintenance and design.

On Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3, Worzel Gummidge and Aunt Sally will be entertaining youngsters as well as handing out 1,000 free packets of seeds to visitors.

Gardening enthusiasts also have the opportunity to win a two-day break to the RHS Wisley Garden Show and the Hampton Court Flower Show with overnight stay and English breakfast at the four-star Renaissance Hotel, Heathrow. Entry leaflets are available at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre during the event week.

In addition, children can have fun searching out and counting the scarecrows hidden in the mall and on exhibitors' stands. Competition forms are available at the shopping centre and the first correct entry drawn will be given a prize.

The Hempstead Valley Gardening Show takes place during the opening hours of the shopping centre.

Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre, which has more than 52 stores and restaurants, over 2,200 free parking spaces and disabled access, is located at Junction 4, off the M2.
