Iceland To Introduce Bonza Barby Banger To UK

Strewth Sheila! End To Shrivelled Sausages
With Australia's Foolproof Barbeque Banger

When it comes to barbecues nobody does it better than the Ausssies, but this is set to change when the BARBY BANGER arrives exclusively at Iceland stores this week.

The arrival of the sausage (known to our Antipodean friends as the 'snag') in the UK is predicted to transform the traditional British barbecue forever. The sausage has been designed in Australia to be cooked on the barbecue, with the perfect size, shape and ingredients to avoid burning, undercooking and smoking.

The BARBY BANGER is made using a traditional Australian recipe and combines pork meat with an authentic Australian seasoning combination of white pepper, nutmeg, coriander, rubbed sage and rubbed parsley.

The short, fat snags are three inches long and one and a half inches wide - keeping them firmer during cooking, less susceptible to falling through the barbecue grill and easier to pick up with tongs. The constitution of the banger also means that, no matter how charred it may look, there will be still be perfectly cooked meat within.

Iceland's Meat Buyer, Mark Cloudy, comments:
"We are aware of the frustrations our customers go through when hosting al fresco BBQ's and have come up with the perfect solution! The barbecue is a real art form in Australia and we've refined our food products and cooking techniques to match that. The 'snag' is a must have at barbies all over the country and we're delighted that it will now be available to the British Market - which still has some way to go to perfect their grilling techniques.

"Sausages are our biggest seller during barbecue season, yet most of us have had some kind of disastrous experience with burnt or undercooked bangers. The Barby Banger is a genuine innovation for this market - and they really do work!"

The BARBY BANGER is available in Iceland stores across the country priced from 30th March, priced at £1.99 for approximately 25.
