As the call for
nominations goes out for the Asian Women of Achievement Awards
2005, Lloyds TSB takes on the mantle of headline sponsor in
a three-year agreement that marks a coming of age for the
Awards.
The tie-up is
the first of its kind and is a tribute to the success of the
Awards, now in their sixth year, and the commitment of Lloyds
TSB to diversity and equality initiatives.
"The Awards highlight
the achievement of women who represent a commonwealth of different
influences, cultures and perspectives, but who share common
roots, a long tradition of self-reliance and sense of social
responsibility. Lloyds TSB also share this commitment to the
Asian community, and we are very happy that they have chosen
to support the Asian Women of Achievement Awards " says Awards
chairman, Pinky Lilani.
"Lloyds TSB is
delighted to sponsor the Asian Women of Achievement Awards
and is proud to support the recognition of the significant
contribution that is made by Asian women across Britain today."
comments Fiona Cannon, head of equality and diversity for
Lloyds TSB.
"As one of Britain's
leading companies we are committed to strengthening and deepening
our relationships within those communities where we do business.
We continually
seek to better understand these local communities, their different
needs and aspirations, and we recognise that only by investing
in and valuing the contributions of our Asian staff and customers
will we truly become an employer and financial service provider
of choice.
By sponsoring
these awards we are demonstrating our huge commitment to equality
and diversity whilst celebrating the immense skills and talents
so evident in women across the UK's Asian communities."
In addition to
the role of headline sponsor, Lloyds TSB will also be sponsoring
the Lloyds TSB AWA Award - a special award presented by the
