Farmer Duck

Duck works on the farm, while the lazy farmer sleeps, and lazes, and orders her about - until the night the rest of the animals get together to do something about it...

I really wanted to like this book, but it just didn't grab me. The story definitely has it's heart in the right place - maybe too much so, because I found it just a little bit preachy.
Helen Oxenbury's illustrations are as gorgeous as ever, but I felt the story would work as well without them, and that's never a good thing for a picture book.
