With
the UK Chess Challenge breaking more records this year with over
70,000 children taking part, chess is enjoying a period of rapid
growth with more young children keen to learn the game.
Why is this? Apart from
the well publicised link to improved academic performance, chess
is still the ultimate game of strategy and great fun to play. Another
key factor is that Chess is "cool again" with the news that some
of our leading iconic celebrities are chess players. Bono, Sting
and Lennox Lewis are all keen players.
To help children master
the game, the award winning children's PC game Learn to Play Chess
with Fritz & Chesster is now available in the UK through Chess
Academy at only £19.99 plus £1.99 P&P. Aimed at children aged 6 years
and above, your child will learn the basic rules and tactics by going
on an interactive journey of discovery to understand the role of each
piece and how they move around the board. Within four weeks they could
be challenging you to a game!
