Do you ever find yourself stuck for an idea of where to spend a
day out, with something to entertain all the family, not too far
away and inexpensive? The answer may surprise you - go horseracing!
With 59 racecourses across the country, there's bound to be one
near you.
With
children under 16 admitted free to all racecourses and adult entry
from as little as £5, a family day out at the races is fantastic
value. The Discover Racing website enables you to book for any of
the 59 racecourses in Britain. Simply visit the website at www.discover-racing.com
where you'll find all you need to know about horseracing, including
information about on-course facilities, how to get there and what
to wear. Even better, if you book two adult tickets for any enclosure
on any course at www.discover-racing.com,
for a limited period only, you will receive two free kids' goody
bags, while stocks last. (Quote code WP933 when booking)
The atmosphere on family
days at racecourses is always relaxing and friendly. Most racecourses
are very welcoming to children, and have a safe children's play
area. There
are plenty of grassy areas to have a picnic and enjoy the great
outdoors with those nearest and dearest to you.
There are many race meetings that are specifically designated as
family days, and lay on a wide range of activities that vary from
course to course. There is a myriad of interactive entertainment
to suit all children. Some of these are very good for working off
the excess energy such as fun races, kids' games, bouncy castles,
Fantasia Fun House, junior go-karting, rodeo rides and assault courses.
There are even sports days, with penalty shoot outs for children
and even sporting heroes attending.
There can also be a range
of more gentle activities, such as furry animal farms, pony rides,
children's rides, funfair, ball pond, Grand National simulator,
giant Jenga & Connect 4 and kids clubs.
Some
of the entertainment is for watching - such as Punch & Judy and
mascot races. There's also face-painting, magic shows and balloon
artists. Whatever the activity, a day at the races promises to give
the family a day out they won't forget.
So why not pack up a
picnic and take the kids for a jaunt at your local racecourse? With
plenty of space for the kids to have their fun, Mum and Dad are
free to enjoy the racing and perhaps a little flutter!
You can find a list
of all race meetings at www.discover-racing.com.
