This is a sort of junk
modelling activity using what most parents of small children will
have an abundance of. Empty loo roll tubes and lolly sticks!

roll etc. tubes.

like Sellotape and possibly a stapler.

-
The
cardboard tube is going to be the body of the animal.
-
Stick
four lolly sticks onto the tube for the legs. You'll need one
on each side at the front and the back. Either use glue or sellotape
to make them secure and make sure you stick them in such a way
that the legs are all the same length and the animal stands
up straight.
-
Cut
a circle out of the card for the head and stick this on to one
end of the tube. We found that sticky tape was best for this.
-
Cut
two ears out of card in the appropriate shape. You could make
pointy ears for a horse or a donkey, or large ears for an elephant
for example.
-
Stick
the ears onto each side of the head by gluing, sticking or stapling.
-
Make
a face for your animal either by simply drawing it in pen or
pencil, or use stick on googly eyes or small buttons.
-
If
you like you could use bits of wool or string to make a mane
or a tail or whiskers etc.
-
To
add the final finishing touch to your animal why not get the
paints out.
